Women’s Cricket Tournament Fundraiser | Inner Wheel Club of Borivli
On 02 April 2023, Inner Wheel Club of Borivli, District 314, in association with Rotary Club of Borivli and Straight Drive, successfully organized a grand Women’s Cricket Tournament at Dahisar Sports Ground.
This mega event brought together 8 women’s teams from across Mumbai, with all participants aged above 35, promoting active lifestyles, sportsmanship, and women empowerment. The tournament was not only a sporting event but also a meaningful fundraiser supporting a noble cause.
The event received wide media coverage and was featured by Metro India News, along with a live telecast on YouTube, making it a strong public relations initiative. Notably, this was the 4th consecutive year that the event was successfully organized under the leadership of Club Secretary and Convenor Jaynisha Sampat.
Cause & Contribution
The funds raised through the tournament were utilized to donate a roti maker to Dipali Mehta, who runs a home-based tiffin service “Mom’s Kitchen” serving residents in Kandivali, Borivali, and Dahisar. Her service has been especially valuable for senior citizens and during challenging times like the COVID-19 pandemic.
