International Women’s Day Celebration & Health Initiatives | Inner Wheel Club of Borivli
On 08 March 2023, Inner Wheel Club of Borivli marked International Women’s Day with impactful initiatives focused on women’s health, awareness, and community welfare.
Project 1: TB Patient Support & Health Awareness
As part of its social responsibility, the club adopted 12 patients suffering from Tuberculosis for a duration of six months. On this occasion, essential nutritional support was provided to these patients as per doctors’ recommendations. Proper nutrition plays a crucial role in TB treatment, helping strengthen the immune system and improve recovery outcomes.
The club also actively participated in a health awareness program organized at R South Ward under the guidance of Dr. Deepa Jadhav and Dr. Bhagyashri Kapse, along with the support of Assistant Commissioner Lalit Talekar and the NCD cell.
The program featured expert sessions on key topics including:
- Women’s health and common gynecological issues by Dr. Pratik Raut
- Dietary approaches for women by Dr. Vidisha Churi
- Overview of tuberculosis in Mumbai by Dr. Reena Raul
- Social aspects of violence by Mrudul Sawant
- Understanding non-communicable diseases by Dr. Rhujuta Adkar
The event saw active participation from healthcare professionals, community volunteers, and female staff from various departments, making it an informative and empowering session.
Project 2: Women’s Day Celebration at MPS Poinsur School
In addition to healthcare initiatives, the club celebrated Women’s Day with teachers at MPS Poinsur School through fun activities, games, and fellowship, creating a joyful and engaging environment.
To encourage young talent, gifts were distributed by Treasurer Sonal Davda to students who secured first prizes in an inter-school yoga competition. The uniforms for these students were generously donated by club member Nayna Shah, reflecting the club’s continued support for education and extracurricular excellence.
Inspiration & Impact
As rightly said by Serena Williams:
“Every woman’s success should be an inspiration to another. We’re strongest when we cheer each other on.”
This Women’s Day celebration beautifully combined health awareness, social responsibility, and community bonding. Inner Wheel Club of Borivli continues its mission to empower women, support healthcare initiatives, and create a positive impact in society.
