On 9th January 2023, Inner Wheel Club of Borivli attended the District Urban Medical Project held at Cama & Albless Hospital and King George Hospital, along with ZC Sonal Chandarana and District ISO Mona Gyani. The project focused on providing affordable healthcare services to underprivileged residents of Mumbai and improving medical infrastructure for the community.

Project Highlights:

  • Affordable Health Services: Ensuring accessible healthcare for underprivileged residents of Mumbai.

  • Cancer Prevention & Research Centre: Early detection facilities and equipment setup at Cama & Albless Hospital.

  • Lecture Hall for Students: Equipped with a projector screen to facilitate educational programs.

  • Renovated Cytology Prevention & Research Centre: Enhancing facilities and providing necessary equipment for cytology services.

  • Day Care Centre Expansion: Large open-to-sky green space landscaped as “Garden of Tranquility” for elderly residents.

Objectives of the Centre:

  • Enriching participants’ lives by building upon their skills and strengths.

  • Providing social interaction and engagement activities.

  • Offering respite and support to family caregivers.

Centre Facilities:

  • Lounge area with TV and comfortable seating.

  • Lounge chairs or beds for relaxing or naps (4 to 6 people).

  • Small reading space for leisure and learning.

  • Disabled-friendly toilet and assistive devices like handrails, walkers, etc.

Inner Wheel Club of Borivli proudly contributed to this project, supporting a safe and secure environment for elderly patients while enhancing healthcare facilities for the community. This initiative reinforces the club’s commitment to social welfare, health awareness, and inclusive community development.
