Picnic & 6th GBM Meeting at Eco Govardhan Village | Inner Wheel Club of Borivli
On 18 January 2023, Inner Wheel Club of Borivli organized a delightful picnic combined with its 6th General Body Meeting (GBM) at the serene and spiritual destination, Eco Govardhan Village. The day was a perfect blend of spirituality, fun, bonding, and organizational engagement.
The journey began early in the morning at 6:30 AM from Chetna Shinde Bungalow, filled with excitement and enthusiasm. Esteemed guests including Rtn. Dr. Dharmaji Shinde, PDG Praful Sharma, and PP Nitinbhai Majithia warmly greeted members at the venue. As the bus journey began, members enjoyed lively Antakshari, creating a joyful and energetic atmosphere.
The group stopped at Mahaveer Dham for breakfast, where 29 members visited the Jain temple and sought blessings, beginning the day on a spiritual note.
Upon reaching Eco Govardhan Village around 9:30 AM, members explored various temples dedicated to Lord Krishna. A knowledgeable guide enriched the experience by explaining the significance of the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and narrating stories of Gokul, Vrindavan, and Mathura. Members participated in chanting the Hare Krishna Hare Rama dhun, followed by Garba, where even other visitors joined in the celebration. The devotional singing by Treasurer Sonal Davda and Jalpa Rawal added a divine touch to the atmosphere.
On the auspicious occasion of Ekadashi, members performed the sacred Girirajji Parikrama, seeking blessings of Lord Krishna. A traditional fasting lunch was served in a simple and mindful way, promoting the values of gratitude and zero food wastage.
After a relaxing break amidst nature, the 6th GBM meeting was conducted as per the agenda. President Jigna Mistry and ISO Mona Gyani shared updates on district projects, while ZC Sonal Chandarana summarized the Bharat Ke Veer initiative. PP Meena Kaku delivered the vote of thanks, appreciating the enthusiastic participation of members. The club proudly recorded the highest participation from Zone 3.
The day continued with fun-filled activities, including a unique Snakes and Ladders game where couples performed a “Nagin Dance” on every snake bite, bringing laughter and joy to all. Fellowship and bonding were at their peak during these engaging moments.
Members also visited the Gau Shala, feeding cows with grass and ladoos, experiencing spiritual fulfillment. The group enjoyed exploring the village, shopping for organic products, vegetables, pulses, and pickles, and spending quality time in nature.
No picnic is complete without delicious food, and members relished snacks like Thepla, sandwiches, aloo tikki, chikkis, coffee, and more. The return journey was equally lively, with continuous snacks, music, and fun activities, making it feel like a joyful train ride.
Special thanks were extended to PP Ketal Tapiawala for her valuable support in organizing this memorable picnic. Members also captured beautiful moments through videos and reels, ensuring memories to cherish forever.
As beautifully expressed:
“Dosti kabhi special logon se nahi hoti,
Jinse dosti ho jaati hai, wahi log special ban jaate hain.”
This picnic was not just an outing—it was a celebration of friendship, spirituality, unity, and joy. Inner Wheel Club of Borivli continues to strengthen bonds and create meaningful experiences through such engaging initiatives.
