On 31 October 2022, the Inner Wheel Club of Borivli participated in the prestigious District Seminar Pushpam held at Hotel The Leela, organized by District 314 under the leadership of Zone 3 Coordinator Sonal Chandarana. The event was attended by Dist. ISO Mona Gyani, President Jigna Mistry, Secretary Jaynisha Sampat, VP Bhavana Kapadia, Executive Committee Member Arti Vyas, and several esteemed Past Presidents and members.

The seminar featured three insightful and motivational sessions:

1) Finance Management for Women – Preeti Rathi
Preeti Rathi conducted an interactive session on personal and household finance management, emphasizing saving, investing, and retirement planning for women. She introduced her app LAXME, which helps women plan budgets and manage finances effectively.

2) Legal Awareness – Adv. Mrunalini Deshmukh
Adv. Mrunalini Deshmukh addressed legal aspects affecting women, including family laws, inheritance rights, workplace sexual harassment, and drafting a will, empowering attendees with critical legal knowledge.

3) Indian Textiles & Women Empowerment – Shaina NC
Fashion designer Shaina NC, famously known as the “Queen of Drapes”, shared her journey in the fashion and political arena, motivating women to empower one another. She also highlighted her achievement of draping a saree in 54 different ways, earning a Guinness World Record.

Following lunch, attendees enjoyed three live demonstration sessions:

  • Cooking Demo by Asha Khatau, showcasing Sushi cutlet and Vegetable Mexican-Italian Salad using vegetarian-friendly recipes.

  • Bridal Makeup Demo by Mamta Bhatt, demonstrating professional techniques for glowing skin and long-lasting makeup.

  • Saree Styling Demo by Bina Mardia, author of “The Drape Story”, presenting contemporary and traditional saree draping styles.

The seminar concluded with a dance workshop by choreographer Piyush Sen, teaching moves from popular films and entertaining participants with performances.

The event also featured nine lucky draws, with Saroj Kodia and Neshula Burman winning notable prizes.

The District Seminar Pushpam was an enriching experience for all attendees, combining education, empowerment, creativity, and fun, reflecting the Inner Wheel Club of Borivli’s commitment to personal development and community engagement.
