On 02 July 2022, it was a moment of great joy and pride for the Inner Wheel Club of Borivli as we successfully carried out three meaningful social awareness projects jointly with the Rotary Club of Borivli and six other Rotary Clubs at Zilla Parishad School, Kotabi, Dahanu. This large-scale initiative was named “Saptarangi”, representing seven Rotary Clubs coming together to conduct seven impactful projects. Inner Wheel Club of Borivli proudly joined the initiative as the “eighth wonder”, strengthening the spirit of service and collaboration.

The first project focused on menstrual health awareness, where a teacher explained the menstrual cycle, its effects, and the importance of proper hygiene. The girls were also guided on the correct use and safe disposal of sanitary napkins, helping them gain confidence and awareness about a natural biological process.

The second session was a highly relevant and essential discussion on Safe Touch and Unsafe Touch, conducted by Past President Hema Panchal. This session addressed personal safety, body boundaries, and self-awareness, benefiting around 75 girls. The importance of this session was deeply appreciated, especially considering the vulnerability of children in rural areas.

The third project was an anti-smoking and anti-tobacco awareness session conducted by Past President Meena Kaku for nearly 150 school boys. The session educated students on the harmful effects of tobacco and encouraged them to adopt healthy habits from a young age.

As the school is located in a rural area with limited exposure to urban awareness programs, students are often more susceptible to abuse and unhealthy practices. These educational and preventive awareness sessions are therefore extremely vital for their overall development and safety.

The day was truly satisfying and memorable, as multiple projects were completed successfully along with warm fellowship. The initiative would not have been possible without the constant support of RCB President Rtn. Premrajji and Past President Rtn. Manush Gyani. We also thank Rtn. Dr. Dharmaji Shinde and Rtn. Ashwin Gala for their presence and encouragement.

We sincerely express our gratitude to President Jigna Mistry, Past President Hema Panchal, Past President Meena Kaku, Renjini Premraj, and prospective member Chetana Shinde for their gracious presence and contribution to the success of this noble initiative.

The Saptarangi Project on 02-07-2022 stands as a powerful example of how collective efforts, awareness, and compassion can positively shape young lives and communities.
